About the Journal

The Student Affairs on Campus (SAoC) journal launched in 2013 and published open access issues on the TACUSPA website through 2018. The journal took a two-year hiatus in 2019 so TACUSPA could register the journal with the Library of Congress and move it to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The OJS platform allowed the journal to remain an open access publication while also being indexed in research databases. SAoC relaunched in 2023 with its sixth volume.

The vision of SAoC is to be a peer-reviewed, scholarly publication that is helpful to and appreciated by professionals and faculty in Texas higher education institutions and nationally. SAoC publishes empirical research, promising practices, academic work and scholarly manuscripts relevant to higher education and student affairs professionals, faculty, and graduate students. These works specifically pertain to the administrative practice of student affairs as well as college student learning, development, retention, achievement, and engagement.

Submission opportunities to the journal include research manuscripts, research-in-brief manuscripts, literature reviews, book reviews, and practice-in-brief manuscripts. There are no fees associated with submissions and all manuscripts go through a double-blind, peer-reviewed process.

SAoC is published at least once a year with additional issues possible.
